Some years ago the Pastoral museum was presented with a Ford 4000 series tractor with Select O Speed Transmission. The desirable mid 1960s tractor, although a little rough, was put to use on a few small tasks on the museums small working paddock. These included working a baler, harrowing etc with the aim of finding any problems before a restoration was attempted. Apart from cosmetic issues the transmission was proving to be in need of a good overhaul and this is the basis of the following story that appeared in the April 2021 issue of TRACTOR and Farming Heritage Magazine. The magazine is published in England and can be found in Australian newsagents.
Our thanks go to tractor and Heritage Farming Magazine and author Mike Allfrey for permission to present the story and noting the acknowledgements at the end.

In celebrating 100 years of the Bulldog Tractor, we came across the following items from history. It's great to see this iconic tractor keep on going, with many working examples to be seen in our Museum and at our History in Action days.
