The Hamilton Pastoral Museum Inc, hosts four rally’s/event’s a year.  

1.   The first is their harvest or open weekend on the first weekend in January of each year utilising the machinery, clydesdale (draught) horses and equipment associated with farming and life on the land. The scale of this event depends on several factors, eg: weather conditions, type of crop sown the previous year in May, quality of crop to harvest and late or early harvesting.

2.   The second rally or event is the Museum’s major rally and fundraiser for the year and is theme orientated. This rally consists of working displays, tractor pulling demonstrations, tractor trekking, vintage engines and buildings open for access including a post office, bank, blacksmith, saddlers shop and telephone exchange along with varying collections, Hamilton Woodturners offer a working display, Hamilton Model Railways open building with working displays and miniature train rides and Hamilton Vintage & Veteran Drivers Club open building and car display’s. Vintage Military Display’s along with Vintage Trucks, Motorcycles, stallholders, A guest speaker is usually invited for the Saturday dinner and invited clubs or groups along with the public make this weekend a memorable time. This weekend is held on the third weekend in May of every year. Plough & Seeding is also done at this rally to establish crops for harvesting in January the following year.

3.   The last rally or event in Hamilton is very similar to May’s but on a lower scale. Most aspects are included in this rally and is also usually theme orientated. This weekend is held on the third weekend in October each year.

4.   The Portland Branch members of the Hamilton Pastoral Museum, hold a rally in Portland each year on the third weekend in February, and is named Portland Bay Vintage Machinery Rally, located behind the tram depot in Portland.  As per Hamilton’s rally, Portland members put on a impressive rally and try to cater for all age groups. 2017 theme is From Lawn To Paddock. There will be a tractor trek on the Saturday also. All collectors and exhibitors very welcome. There will be a saturday night dinner and a great weekend for everyone.
